I’m Jared Hopton, founder of Historic Home Inspections. I firmly believe that historic homes deserve far more than a standard, routine inspection.

I am a licensed and certified home inspector serving Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, specializing in historic and older homes. My qualifications combine formal training, professional certifications, and extensive hands-on study of historic building systems.

I have completed specialized training in inspecting older and historic properties through organizations such as the National Preservation Institute and the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), focused on advanced coursework focused on evaluating 100–300 year-old homes. In addition, I have conducted extensive independent research on historic architecture, traditional building practices, and period-specific construction techniques.

This combined expertise allows me to provide inspections that go beyond standard assessments—helping clients understand not only a home’s condition, but also how to properly maintain and preserve its historic integrity.
